From the bus station and railway station, the institution can be reached with a 20-minute walk or by buses No. 1, 2, or 10. If arriving by car, please use the parking lot on the college grounds and inform the reception desk of the purpose of your visit.

Further Information

Library
Any Hungarian citizen or foreign researcher over the age of 18 may register free of charge. Certain services can also be used without full registration after a simple sign-up process.

Archives
Researchers are welcome in our archives as well – registration is available from the age of 18. Before starting your research, please fill in our registration form, which should include your personal details as well as the subject of your research. The form is available on our registration page.
For restricted materials, you must submit a formal request for access. This must be accompanied by a letter of support from a higher education institution or research institute, and the director of our institution also has the right to request such a letter from you. Access to restricted materials is granted based on the submitted documentation.
Registration is free, but archival services (e.g. photocopying, data retrieval, digital photo tickets, etc.) are subject to fees as set out in our Reading Room Regulations.
Our Research Regulations are available here, and our archivists will be eager to assist you with any further questions. Information about our online digital resources and how to access them can be found in the E-Research menu.

Visiting for General Interest and with School Groups
Our archives are open not only to researchers. On request, we offer guided archival tours introducing the history and role of the Archdiocese of Veszprém and its archives. Visitors will learn what types of documents and charters we preserve, the difference between loose and bound archival materials, the special storage conditions required to preserve them, and the kinds of research they can support. Some documents can also be viewed and handled during the tour. Archival tours are open to visitors aged 12 and over.

For school groups, we also offer “archival education” activities: children aged 10–16 can learn about the making of medieval charters and the basics of heraldry in a playful, interactive way.

If you are interested in booking a guided tour or an archival education session, please contact us by phone or email.
